SPOON - VENTURI BIG THROTTLE BODY - civic FN2 Type-R / FD2 Type-R

The Spoon throttle body is a reworked, brand new OEM Honda unit that has been taper bored and fitted with a large diameter butterfly.  
 
The diamond cutting method used results in a mirror like surface finish internally which reduces resistance. During the cutting process the geometry of the body is changed to benefit from the venuri effect.
 
Engine and throttle response are improved, as is mid and upper rpm power. A 4-6hp improvement can be expected in the mid-rpm range.
 
The Spoon throttle body is a complete replacement unit and includes all necessary sensors.
To make the most of the venture effect and the increased air flow it is recommended that the inlet to the intake manifold is also enlarged. Potentially this will dramatically improve the potential horse power gains. Diameter: 70mm (FD2 67mm / FN2 65mm) butterfly size.
 
Installation of the FD2 Throttle body can take place on the FN2 Civic Type R. This will give great improvements over the Standard restrictive 65m Throttle body. However there will be a large step between the throttle body and intake manifold which will not inhibit the benefit of the modification. We can offer on an exchange basis a reworked intake manifold, ported and polished to match the enlarged Spoon throttle body, please contact us if you are interested.
 
Suitable for Civic FD2 Type R and Civic FN2 Type R
Comes with replacementment gasket.
If being installed to the Civic FN2 Type R you will require the Spoon modified intake chamber.
